Prince, Sidharth and Vikas make records

On the third day of Thursday’s 81st All-India Intercollegiate Athletics Championships, three new records were set, bringing the total to six.

Prince of Kurukshetra University won the 5,000m race in a new record time of 14: 05.48s, while AK Sidharth of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, won gold in the pole vault with a record height of 4.92m.

In the Vikas drive from Chaudhary Devi Laal University, Sirsa, he won the top prize with a record throw of 55.38 m, his effort was 0.05 m more than the previous record holder Gagandeep Singh.

In 110 mH L. Yashwanth from Acharya Nagarjuna University mined gold in 14.32 s. In decathlon, Yamandeep Sharma from Lovely Professional University placed at the top with 6779 points.
